Barratt Redrow, Britain’s biggest housebuilder, has reported softer private home reservations and a dip in home completions over the first seventeen weeks of its financial year, as ongoing affordability pressures weigh on potential homebuyers. Boss Dean Banks noted that while the underlying private reservation rate declined, the company experienced stronger demand from the private rental sector and a resilient trading performance against challenging market conditions. Total reservation rates improved slightly, and the group's order book grew to 3.32 billion pounds compared to 3.28 billion a year earlier. The update follows an autumn Budget featuring the Government's new First Time Buyer ISA and Your First Home scheme, which the company welcomed alongside planning reform as potential boosts for future housing delivery. Market analysts noted that traders are focusing on the slight improvement in the order book rather than the negative performance in recent months. Fuente: The Standard
