Firefighting teams battled the flames for over seven hours before bringing the blaze under control, while cooling operations continued. A total of 22 fire service units, alongside additional water bowsers and lighting equipment, were deployed to manage the situation. Firefighters faced significant difficulties maneuvering equipment through narrow lanes measuring around 10 to 11 feet in width, requiring pipes to be drawn from tenders parked at a distance. Delhi Police suspect battery overcharging as the possible cause, though the exact source will be ascertained after cooling operations conclude. No casualties or injuries were reported as the market was empty at night, though extensive property damage occurred.
