A joint team consisting of the Indonesian military, police, search and rescue agency, disaster management agency, local government, and community members successfully evacuated the final victim of the MI-17V5 army helicopter crash with registration number HA-5235 in the waters of Pematang Limau Village, Seruyan Hilir District, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The evacuation process for the victim, Sergeant Heri Prasetyo, was led by regional military commander Major General Zainul Arifin, alongside provincial governor Agustiar Sabran, regional police chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan, and other officials. Army Information Service Head Brigadier General Donny Pramono explained that before the recovery, the joint team had to flip the helicopter body resting on the seabed using a tugboat so divers could reach the interior. Divers encountered severe challenges including strong water currents, murky and muddy conditions, low visibility, and fuel spills around the site. Despite these hurdles, cooperation among all elements ensured a successful operation. The recovered body was transported via boat to Segintung Port and then taken to Kuala Pembuang Regional Hospital. The army expressed deep appreciation to the joint personnel and local residents who voluntarily assisted in the search and recovery efforts. With the location and evacuation of Sergeant Heri as the final victim, all casualties from the tragic accident have now been recovered. The military aircraft previously suffered a crash while carrying out duties related to forest and land fire suppression operations in the region. The fatal incident previously claimed the lives of three army personnel including Lieutenant Colonel Dudi Firmansyah, Captain Nurhafiz Akbar, and Sergeant Heri Prasetyo.
