Rheola House arsonists (clockwise from top left) Evan Traynor, Ellis Harding, Kyle Renzoni, and Yian Foster These are the faces of the four teenagers who carried out a devastating arson attack on an historic listed building. Kyle Renzoni, Ellis Harding, Yian Foster, and Evan Traynor donned balaclavas and filmed themselves as they torched the manor house in an act a judge described as "an unfathomable display of unspeakable wickedness". Rheola House - designed by renowned architect John Nash - in the Neath Valley was gutted in the incident, and its long-term future is now unclear. The teens have each been sentenced at Swansea Crown Court to three detention in a young offenders institution for the arson attack. You can follow our coverage of the sentencing here - including the claim by one of the arsonists that he wanted to kill a homeless man living in the house The defendants - along with a youth who cannot be named because of his age - torched Rheola House on August 18 this year while the country was in the grip of this summer's heatwave. Cardboard and an accelerant were used to start the fire, and pieces of wood were then used to feed the flames. As the fire took hold the group fled they stopped to start a grass fire in front of the house. Despite the best efforts of firefighters, the flames spread from the servants' quarters to the rest of the listed building and eventually destroyed the roof and floors leaving only the "outer envelope" of walls standing. Kyle Renzoni (Image: South Wales Police) The court heard the owners of Rheola had been planning a multi-million pound boutique hotel and leisure complex with scores of holiday cabins on the site. A detailed assessment of the gutted building is currently underway, and it is not known if the house can be saved or viably restored. The arsonists were caught after police traced Renzoni's car. Officers recovered a GoPro camera from the vehicle and found video footage which showed Ronzoni had filmed the incident. Kyle Renzoni, aged 18, of Bryn Catwg, Cadoxton, Neath ; Ellis Harding, aged 19, of Rhos Road, Gendros, Swansea ; Yian Foster, aged 18, of John Street, Resolven, Neath Valley; and 18-year-old Evan Traynor, of Brithwen Road, Waunarlwydd, Swansea, had all previously pleaded guilty to arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered when they returned to the dock for sentencing. None has any previous convictions. He said his client has a good work ethic and had taken steps to join the armed forces, and said the court may be of the view that the discipline which comes from a such a career would be beneficial. Ian Wright, for Harding, said the defendant feels "genuine regret, shame and remorse" for his actions. He said while Harding has a calendar age of 18 he functions at a much younger age, and said he has ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, and Tourette syndrome. The barrister said his client had applied to join the Army but was rejected based on his diagnoses. Sarah John, for Foster, said her client had been exposed to drugs in the womb and, in the words of the pre-sentence report, was "born addicted to heroin". She said Foster was taken into care shortly after birth and experienced an upbringing "marred by adverse childhood experiences".
